Quotable!

By that token you could say anyone with a disability is born in the wrong body. People with disorders of sexual development are still male or female. No one is both sexes. There is no third gamete

They covered this strawman in the discussion, weren't you listening?

@user-dg6qn4si1h your castle of sand is crumbling 😊 seethe & cope
2
What is 'valid'? Transwomen are men
2
How do you know your mind is female?
2
@user-dg6qn4si1h o Its not. You can change aspects of your body but you will never change your sex. Cutting off your genitals & removing internal reproductive organs doesn't change your sex. It just makes you a mutilated person of your sex
2
Maya Forstator changed the game entirely. Because of her we are all safer & freeer
2
I agree with most of what you say, but 'neuter' is not a sex nor a gender. There are two sexes; male and female
2
The Equality Act is good. That's what won her case. It's the Gender Recognition Act that needs to go (& I would also remove 'gender reassignment' as a protected characteristic; it can be covered under 'Religion and Belief' and/or 'Disability'
2
Gender is a belief system. It's fine to hold the belief but not to force it on others
2
@lotsofstuff9645 it is like racism or sexism as in you can hold those beliefs (gender ideology is inherently sexist) but you can't force those beliefs on others. No one has a duty to share the ideology of others or collude in other people's delusions
2
@lotsofstuff9645 as an example, try defining the words 'man' & 'woman' as genders as opposed to sexes. And I mean proper definitions, not circular definitions. No one can do this as it exposes that the entire concept is based on sexist stereotypes. Sex says that the only criteria to being a man or a woman is to be human, adult & male or female respectively. There is total freedom within that to think, feel, act as an individual. Gender says that the criteria is based not on your body but how you think, feel & act. With a great deal of emphasis on shallow concepts like how you dress. Therefore implying there is a right or wrong way to be a man or a woman and reducing us to regressive stereotypes. The concept of non binary arrogantly assumes that the majority of the world are fitting into these regressive stereotypes whereas some special people do not & are much more individual than other people. Actually, if gender truly exists (it does not), then we are all non binary
2
@lotsofstuff9645 I am happy with people to dress & express themselves how they want (as long as this doesn't cross over to them acting out their sexuality publicly & co-opting others without their consent, which in reality is what lots of cross dressing is). I support gender non conforming people & individual expression. But that is not the same as a man calling himself a woman & wanting to be called she/her/Mrs etc, as that is denying reality, infringing on the identity on people who are actually women & attempts to control others. It's not up to anyone how other people talk about us. A man can say he's a woman or a spider or a toothbrush & I support his free speech but no one else should have to agree with him & we should have the same free speech to say no, you're a man.
2
@lotsofstuff9645 yes, the word women means adult human female. The word man means adult human male. Its as simple as that 😁
2
@lotsofstuff9645 it absolutely does impact me. It impacts me if women & children are put at risk by men being allowed in their spaces & sports. It impacts me when women's opportunities are taken because men are grabbing them. It impacts me when kids are being taught lies & being confused, so that vulnerable kids; those who have been traumatised, are autistic, are likely to grow up gay or lesbian or are otherwise non conforming are taught that their problems are due to being 'born in the wrong body' & encouraged to mutilate their bodies & become life long medical patients. It impacts me when our taxes are used to pay for said mutilation & medicalisation. It impacts me when my work place becomes an unsafe place to speak the truth. Your illogical ideology is harming people
2
@user-dg6qn4si1h so by that definition, as I don't have a gender identity, I am not a woman? And what about women who are not feminine, they are excluded from womenhood? Does that mean that effeminate gay men are not men? This seems not only sexist but also very homophobic. Can you define gender & gender identity?
2
@user-dg6qn4si1h I don't identify with females, I AM female. In the same way that I don't identify with humans, I AM human. I genuinely don't have a gender identity or a concept of what one is. I am an individual personality. As are you & everyone else in this world & none of us knows how other people of our or the opposite sex feels.
2
@user-dg6qn4si1h changing sex is impossible. So it's aiming for something that can never be achieved. And attempting to do so, apart from lying to oneself which is psychologically very unhealthy, involves fighting one's own body which generally means bodily mutilation to the point of removing healthy body parts and messing up one's endocrine system via synthetic hormones. It also means depending on others' 'validation' of ones made up gender to feel a sense of self. And therefore entails a lot of manipulation of others. It's a 24 hour cos play with added self harm
2
@user-dg6qn4si1h it is completely impossible to change sex. It is coded into every cell of our body. Whatever cosmetic or hormonal changes are made, our sex remains the same
2
Yes, I only use the word 'sex' now & never use gender except in the context of the ideology.

@babs_babs evidence to back that up?

Those beliefs are protected

It depends how he identifies
1
@user-dg6qn4si1h how can gender, a total social construct, be a fact? You're going to need to explain a lot more about that
1
@lotsofstuff9645 being a woman isn't about dresses & make up & jewellery & perfume. Can't you see how regressive this is? A man in a dress & make up & perfume & jewellery is a man in a dress & make up & perfume & jewellery. Which is cool. He's not a woman
1
@user-dg6qn4si1h race is actually much closer to a social construct than sex but somehow its unacceptable to identify into a race that we are not - why is this? I have no idea. I agree that there are typical behaviours related to sex. We see this in humans, eg in social behaviours, interests, jobs we choose, different crimes we commit or mental illnesses we suffer from. But that doesn't mean that behaviour atypically makes us of the opposite sex, we are just atypical in some ways. The more we make these things conditional on sex, the more we limit people from full expression.
1
They really do! And other versions. I had someone at my work say 'WHAT ABOUT MUSHROOMS' when I pointed out that most animals & plants have male & female
1
@babs_babs there are two sexes. That is the point. Anomalies don't disprove the rule. People born with one or even no legs don't disprove that humans are bipedal mammals
1
@babs_babs you're simply wrong & in a way that is deeply insulting to people with disorders of sexual development. Intersex is an extremely misleading term & one that's contributing to your misunderstanding. People with disorders of sexual development are not 'between' sexes or of both sexes or none. They are all still male or female
