  3. Having a moon base will make it easier to travel to and from Mars! NASA Artemis's project is to colonize the moon as a way-point for Mars colonization. It takes an awful lot of fuel for rockets to lift spacecrafts out of earth's orbit. By having craft lift off from the moon instead of Earth, we will save a lot of time and fuel.

  4.  @colecoleman1499  NASA is going to do both... The US will first build a base on the moon which will then be the platform to begin launching missions to mars to colonize that planet.
