They may be confused as to whether their Ukrainian neighbors are brothers bound in “spiritual, human and civilizational ties”, as per Vladimir Putin wrote in an essay published last summer, or now the instruments of drug-addled Nazis, as he thundered recently?

@johndransfield1265 Not "they"... it was Putin who wrote the essay and he was speaking of the entire country... not just a small minority of people Russia placed in Donbas to annex it!!! NAZI problem? Putin's "denazification" is a euphemism for "depopulation" since there will not be many left when they are done bombing and shelling.

@curocurovic6675 Suggesting Ukraine was going to be a staging ground for an attack on Russia is complete NONSENSE!!! There are now several NATO nations that border Russia... are they staging grounds to attack Russia? Prior to Russia's "INVASION"... NATO did in-fact say they would negotiate with Russia on what NATO forces and weapons would be on their border to guarantee Russia's security. Russia rejected this. But do tell... why can Russia be allowed to arm itself BIGTIME but its neighbors must not? And did Russia's invasion of Ukriane which posed NO THREAT to Russia actually help Russia? Germany for example is now going modernize and become the strongest European military power... its goal will make Germany the 3rd strongest army in the world. NATO has now moved troops and weapons on its Eastern borders... is that make Russia safer? Neutral nations like Sweden and Norway are for the first time discussing becoming NATO members... because they see how little Russia regards borders and human rights!!!
