The sad thing is that Mexico has three times the natural resources (Gold, Silver, Gas, Crude Oil, Iron Ore, etc) than the United States but the corruption is rampant and the drug cartels basically run Mexico.

@jypsridic That is a simple solution. One of the people that should have tried to fix it was Ronald Reagan... but only exploited the Drug Cartels to pay for guns during Iran/Contra. He made the situation worse.

@jypsridic Ronald Reagan instructed the CIA to sell Drugs, that's what Iran/Contra was all about and that's why Oliver North went to prison. The United States Government gave Mexican Drug Cartels a free pass in the 1980s. Learn your history.

@Thine_Reaper I'll dumb this down for you. Corporations will not invest in Mexico as long as there are drug cartels and rampant corruption.. This is why the billionaire Carlos Slim left Mexico. Mining conglomerats will not invest in Mexico Mexico as they do in the United States in Canada. In Mexico mining is controlled by the Mexican Government, not Corporations. If Mexico had the International Investment in their mining concerns one of the wealthiest country on Earth.

@Thine_Reaper It has everything to do with it, genius. Without proper funding and equipment there are certain types of mining they cannot do. You can have the richest veins gold, aluminum, iron ore, and oil but if you don't have the proper equipment to reach them it's useless. Corporations can get funding that the government of Mexico can not. Don't ever confuse a country's output of natural resources with the natural resources themselves.

Águila701 Yes, there is corruption in the United States But don't even try to compare the corruption in the u.s. to corruption in Mexico. The reason why Carlos Slim left Mexico was because of the cartels and systemic corruption in Mexico.

@notaprodiscgolf No, they don't. Our pharmaceutical companies like Purdue Pharma make more drug addicts than anything coming out of Mexico. They don't call it an opioid epidemic for nothing.

@notaprodiscgolf Drugs are drugs. There is no distinction between Oxycontin or Heroin. Chemically they are almost identical, except Oxycontin was designed to be more addictive than heroin. People only buy heroin brought up from Mexico because it's cheaper than Oxycontin. And oxycontin is vastly more addictive than cocaine. Fentanyl was engineered by a pharmaceutical company and is one of the most addictive drugs in the world.
