Comments by "cdl0" (@cdl0) on "What caused China’s real estate bubble and the local government debt crisis?" video.
The two main differences are (1) The total amount of US Dollars is published, public information, while the amount of Yuan is a state secret, and the only major currency to the so, and (2) The total debt of local authorities in the US is also public, while in China it is hidden by the schemes described in the video.

It is called Evergrande, and is not the only one. There are various, complicated deals going on, which effectively mean that these failing companies and their debts are being dispersed and absorbed by various other state-owned companies. Lei has dealt with it in previous videos; see also Patrick Boyle, China Observer, and China Insights for more on the long, complex, ongoing saga.

@drumpfdon760 Many years ago, I met a man who really was called James Bond. He was born before the James Bond spy novels were written. He told me that his name caused no end of trouble when he travelled abroad.

@drumpfdon760 Wrong - again. The classic lesson is the Weimar Republic in the early 1920s, where excessive borrowing and printing of money lead to hyperinflation and economic collapse. In more modern times, there are countries such as Zimbabwe in a similar situation. The problem with not having published, public data on the amount of money in circulation is that its true value cannot be determined. Thus, it means Reminbi cannot become a 'reserve currency' and all that this entails. . . . .

@drumpfdon760 Funny but true: the poor man always received a long interrogation at passport control.

@drumpfdon760 So, you point is exactly what in reply to mine? Your response does not answer @MrMigido's question at all. Patrick Boyle is certainly not anti-China, he is purely a financial analyst, and the other channels, are critical of the CCP, rather than being anti-China. Calling the CCP 'China' is misuse of a metonym.
