  1. RTFM: Since the days of the Samsung Captivate (aka Galaxy 1) you've been able to plug earphones or earmics into the charging port of the phone. Either you buy a set with the correct mini/micro/usb-c plug, or you get a $5 adapter plug, and you can use all the old earmics on all the new phones. Another $5 gets you a splitter, so you can plug a charger in at the same time as your ear sets. And yes, it still is a RFPITA but it works.
