  2. A warning about SONY headphones. I had two sets of thieir highend regular "studio" phones. On both of them, the plastic "leather" that surrounds your ears, started crumbling and flaking off in 3-4 years. I've got 20+ year old headphones that have never done this. So I wrote it off to a fluke and ordered genuine SONY replacements. Guess what happened again? Since then I bought slightly more expensive replacements from a different audio maker, and still have no problem with them. SONY has apparently buying cheap plastics from poor sources. I'd hate to buy pricey headphones from them--only to have them crumble apart the same way.
