Because history is not linear, it works in cicles. If you learn about the Roman Empire for example, you will understand how the present American Empire works and how it is in its last phase. History is a very important subject to teach in schools, and so is philosophy. There is a reason why they do not teach philosophy in American highschools, but they teach it in Italian and most European highschools. I know this because I went to both Italian and American (as an exchange student in 1992).

@technovikingnik thank you 😉 I think American highschools are where they teach capitalism, not critical thinking.

Militarism is NOT a feature of communism. Of course some "communist countries" adopted militarism, but it is not a feature like it is a feature of fascism.

@ronorazine9105 the Soviet Union was not a communist country. They were a socialist country. With some bad things (Stalin) and some good things. There are many examples of socialist countries (no communist ones), no one has to follow the Soviet Union model. I like the Kurdish model (Rojava). If you actually read any book about communism or socialism, you will find nothing there about militarism or war. It's not part of the concept. Violence, militarism and war on the other hand are very much at the core of fascist and nazi doctrine. This is facts, not opinions.

@ronorazine9105 you mistake socialism for communism, you think Stalin's Soviet Union is the only socialist country in history, and you think whatever they did during the worst war in history has anything to do with socialism or communism. Tell me, since the USA, the UK, France etc are capitalist countries, are their actions in wars due to capitalism?

@ronorazine9105 do you have any idea how many famines were caused by capitalism? How many wars? How many deaths? Capitalism killed more than any other system.

@ronorazine9105 the famines in India under British rule were caused by capitalism then.

@MarlinWilliams-ts5ul can you read? Obviously not. What caused the famines in India during British rule?

@MarlinWilliams-ts5ul are American wars not capitalist wars? Especially in the Middle East?
