That's because Italians want one thing, but Washington wants another, and we have been occupied by the USA since post WWII. That's why we seem bipolar 😂 Italians, especially in the North, are very anti-Nato, pro-Russia, pro-China etc. I live near Venice. We have a long history of trade and cultural exchange with many countries.

@peterk5981 thank you :-) I think Americans usually do not understand our pov. We have a very long history, like Russia and China, and unlike the USA. We do not have any "enemies" as a country. The USA has many. We just want to like in peace, exchange cultural experiences with other countries, and trade goods. We have a different idea of "freedom of speech" and "human rights" too in Europe compared to the USA. Elon Musk for example does not understand that. We really do not have much in common with the USA.
