Discrimination in Japan is not that big of a deal compared to other countries. For example, a friend of mine who lives in the U.S. has been sprayed with water and called racist things by strangers, and he has witnessed two attacks on Asians in the past year. This kind of thing doesn't happen in Japan. Japan would be much better because there is no risk of death.

No, Japanese people tend to prefer white skin, but it's not because they want to be white. In Japan, there was a culture where white skin was considered good even before they interacted with Caucasians. In fact, if you look at the history of Japan, women have been wearing white makeup for over a thousand years. This was before they knew about the existence of white people.
