Finland is said to have the best work-life balance in the world, but its birth rate is lower than Japan's. So there is no guarantee that improving the working environment will increase the birth rate. Besides, in Japan in the 70's, the working environment was even worse, but everyone had kids.

Why do you think the birth rate in Finland, which is said to have the best work-life balance in the world, is lower than in Japan?

Many believe that improving Japan's working environment will increase the birth rate, but unfortunately, it won't. In the 70's, Japan was working much longer hours and in a much worse environment than today, yet the birth rate was twice as high as today. And Finland is said to have the best work-life balance in the world, but Finland's birth rate is lower than Japan's.

I saw on the news the other day that over 100 Kurdish refugees rioted in Saitama Prefecture. And they don't speak any Japanese, don't integrate into Japanese society, and repeatedly pick on and sexually harass Japanese women in order to obtain Japanese citizenship. Like the riots in France, the pursuit of diversity does not bring good results so Japanese should quit thinking that immigration is an easy way to maintain the birth rate. The West has already proven the failure of diversity.

I don't know about the early 2000's when you were in Japan, but in Japan today it is illegal to fire a woman from her job because of pregnancy. And many Japanese companies now give priority to women in management positions.
