Hafu are not treated as Japanese because many of them do not want to fit into Japanese society. For example, they stay away from Japanese people and stay with other foreigners or other half-Japanese people. And in my experience, many of them complain about Japan and Japanese people all the time. Many of them grew up with western and American influences, so they impose western values on Japan and say that Japan is behind compared to the west. Recently, a half named Hanako Montgomery was criticizing the Japanese manga industry as a reporter for vice media. No wonder these people are not accepted in Japanese society. It's not about how they look, it's about how they think.

@Greenforrest7342 Yeah, it's the same in every country. I wonder if he doesn't know that Asians in the West are being attacked and told to 'go back to China' because of COVID.
