  1. Key here for onlookers is to keep Afghanistan citizens separate from the Taliban. Our common humanity tells us we help, no questions asked. The task is to get the aid to those who need it, obviating the need for the Taliban to get its grubby paws on it. In the same way Putin’s regime has to be kept separate from the Russian people, and the Israeli state occupation of Palestinian territory has to be kept separate from Israelis (or, at least, those who don’t support this brutal occupation), then the world must help individuals like this who are affected by natural disasters, through absolutely no fault of their own.
