@AlexCookaacook I would also add this: expecting nuclear power to be safe in human hands in the long run is a bit like giving a toddler a loaded gun and not expecting an accident at some point.

@AlexCookaacook Just pointing out that humans are very clever. We split the atom. Our big problem is cleaning up the mess. Not wise enough.

@GothAtheist I agree. Renewables are the way to go long-term. But in short to medium-term we need all the old alternatives as we make that transition.

@AlexCookaacook It’s ‘safe’, mate. Until Chernobyl. Until Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Until Three-Mile Island. Until Fukushima. Until it falls into nefarious hands to be made into bombs. I’d sleep better at night knowing there’s no nuclear, quite frankly.
