It’s got zero to do with ‘denying climate change’. The climate has been ‘changing’ since there has been a climate! The issue is ‘global warming’, and if global warming is a thing, just how much is humanity contributing to this?

@panterafanloco1600 Yes, I do. And I understand the climate has changed since there has been a climate. 👍

@KungFuWizardOfJesus That’ll be why there were warming periods just like this through Earth’s history. Here’s what I think: I think the planet is slightly warming; I also think this debate is far too politicised and I trust neither side; so, that leaves me thinking just wtf is going on here? 🤔 My current working assumption is that humans are contributing to a slight warming of the planet. In other words, it’s the middle ground. Never trust the extremes. That way madness lies.

Just checked Accuweather. Every day in May, bar 2, New Delhi was 45°C or under. That’s normal. This 52°C is supposed to force us all into the idea humankind is causing the planet to boil. The planet is, clearly, warming but the issue that is still far from settled for me is just how much is humanity responsible for this warming?

@martinrolf2606 Not ‘denying’ anything, sweetheart. What’s your problem? I think the planet is warming. I’m not 100% convinced humankind is 100% responsible for this warming. S’all! 👍

@ninjaweretiger4273 This has been happening since time immemorial! 🤦♂️

@ninjaweretiger4273 I repeat: I think it’s political more than anything else. Whenever it’s political, I deeply distrust it.

@ninjaweretiger4273 I don’t deny that the planet is slightly warming. I don’t deny humans are partly contributing to this warming. I just don’t necessarily see the disaster so many suggest, given these predicates (and given the thousand natural shocks that Earth is heir to). My strong hunch is that, before anything else, the bulk of this is political.

@ninjaweretiger4273 It’s 1°C. Let’s be honest here: 41°C/42°C? Are you really going to notice the difference? I get the strong impression from you that, ‘methinks the lady doth protest too much’.

@HoutPateta That’s what I’m saying. I think it may be a false reading.

@KungFuWizardOfJesus Disagree. The planet has seen this kind of warming before. The only reason we’re all getting antsy is that there are 8 billion of us to talk about it, and it seems 4 billion of those are with the Greta gang, while 3.9 billion of those are with the anti Greta gang, which the leaves the rest of us. I happen to think the planet is slightly warming; I don’t necessarily happen to think this is 100% down to human activity.

@MsYoutuebchen Er, in lots of countries 41°C, 42°C in the summer is the norm and has been for decades. Your point is? 🤔

@HoutPateta After reports emerged that temperatures in Delhi hit a record-breaking 52.9 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) is now inspecting the temperature sensor at Delhi’s Mungeshpur automatic weather station to ensure it is functioning correctly. The weather station at Delhi’s Mungeshpur reported a record 52.9 degrees Celsius on May 29, the highest ever in India. IMD Director General M Mohapatra noted that of the 20 monitoring stations in Delhi, 14 recorded a temperature drop, with the average across Delhi ranging between 45 and 50 degrees Celsius. This 52.9°C needs to be confirmed. I smell a dirty rat.
