Some parts of central Spain are considerably colder than Scotland for several months of the year. Spain is, after Switzerland, Europe’s 2nd most mountainous country!

@MeMyselfI-e4d Yeah, but that’s kind of irrelevant here, as it rarely, or never snows in Perpignan.

@MikkaFitnessFrance Lol. 😂 What? Are you telling me you think there are ski resorts in England, Denmark, Finland and Ireland?! 🤦♂️ ⛷ 😂
6
@MikkaFitnessFrance Er, last time I checked there were no real mountains in the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Wales, England, Ireland etc. For me, to qualify as a proper mountain you must be 3,000m+.

@Just_another_Euro_dude “Southern Europe is cold in winter.” Well, it’s kinda relative, dude. 2,000m up a mountain in the Sierra Nevada, perhaps, but, say, Seville isn’t, in relative terms, ‘cold’ in winter. Average about 17°C. Properly ‘cold’ surely has to be something hovering at or under the 0°C mark. 17°C is very mild. Most of Canada is ‘cold’ ( actually cold!) in winter!

@MikkaFitnessFrance You stick to the gym, dude, and leave basic geography to the rest of us! 👍😂 🏋️♀️

@MikkaFitnessFrance Lol. They’re just minor slopes in northern countries. Denmark’s highest point is 171m; you can’t have mountain ski resorts, as we know them, in such a flat land. 🤦♂️

@Just_another_Euro_dude Well, when you consider Everest tops out at 8,000m+, 3,000m is quite conservative to qualify as a proper mountain. It’s my own definition. I don’t find ‘mountains’ under about 3,000m all that.

@Just_another_Euro_dude My point? Well, I already made it. You said Southern Europe had ‘cold’ winters. It doesn’t, really. It’s generally mild most of the time, and particularly if you’re close to the Med. Incidentally, I would advise you not to patronise me, mate, as I have lived in Spain, Southern France and Italy in my time. You don’t know real cold if you think Southern Europe is ‘cold’ during winter. You sound like a southern softy to me! 👍😉

@Just_another_Euro_dude As to your mountain point, well the capitalisation betrays you. The lady doth protest too much, methinks. 😉 Writing capitals won’t alter my opinion that any mountain under 3,000m isn’t really that SPECTACULAR. I repeat, Everest is 8,000m. 3,000m? Do the maths. 👍

@Just_another_Euro_dude Wales? Mountains? Don’t be silly. Nothing over 1,000m for goodness’ sake! 🤦♂️ They’re called ‘hills’ dear boy.

@Just_another_Euro_dude You’re repeating yourself, dude. 👍😉

@ Lol. How many times are you gonna post that?! 🤦♂️

@Just_another_Euro_dude Man, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Southern Europe, relatively speaking (and particularly those places next the Med), is not cold. Chilly nights, yes. But most places down there have very mild day after day. 10°C or higher. Nice, for example, rarely falls below this temperature. Inland and at altitude things are a little different, but you’re just betraying your soft Southern provenance if you think it’s genuinely cold down there. Bad luck. 👍😉
