  1. Absolutely untrue. You just want to believe this. You need to look more closely. While India undoubtedly has a massive problem with male chauvinism generally, it’s interesting to note that on nearly all of the stats you check, it hovers around 2 per 100,000 of the population for reported rapes; compare that to, say, Iceland, which is regularly above 60 per 100,000, France, above 50 per 100,000 and in 2022, England and Wales, astonishingly, had a figure of 117 per 100,000 for reported rapes. Even if you factor in the unreported stuff in India (bearing in mind there will also be unreported stuff elsewhere), the stats seem to suggest that India actually has one of the lowest rape rates on the planet.

India reported 2 per 100,000, England 117 per 100,000. Seems like England, and in fact wider Europe (see Sweden, Iceland) has a bigger rape problem than India. Yep.👍😉
