The explanation for this is that many ordinary European people have had enough of mass immigration.

@GaryS-gi9fkToo glib. It’s deeper than that, whether you like it or not. The dramatic demographic shift of Western Europe these past 50 years or so was always at some point going to be met with a reaction. What did Newton say? For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

@xander5411Indeed. I’m essentially centre-left liberal and have never voted for a right of centre party in my life, but on the issue of mass immigration I think many people are voting for Le Pen on this single issue, when they are naturally centre/centre-left voters.

@MikeJJJJJJJJ The women/football bit is harsh, m8. Give me a Karen Carney punditry session over a Rio (Mr Obvious) Ferdinand, or an Andy (Mr Even More Obvious) Townsend any day of the week!

@MikeJJJJJJJJ Totally disagree. Even Wrighty is too often just an obvious pub bore. Some of these female ex-pros have far more insight. You’re just jaded and prejudiced and nonsensically thinking that if you are a woman you, ipso-facto, can have no insight into football. It doesn’t work like that. Bad luck.

@MikeJJJJJJJJ Not ‘brown-nosing’, m8. It’s just calling it as I see it. There are loads of sh*t female pundits, too, but my point was one’s sex doesn’t necessarily determine the quality (or otherwise) or one’s punditry.

@MikeJJJJJJJJ You’re one of these dudes who thinks everything you say is outrageously funny, aren’t you? They’re often the most boring, unenlightening people in the world, IME. 🥱
