I’m all for legitimate asylum seekers to be heard and given sanctuary if needed; however, one thing I’ve never got is why living in a hotel should be so stressful. After all, most of us choose to go to a hotel to ‘destress’ for 2 weeks every year. Given that hundreds of thousands in this country live in often squalid, damp, mouldy accommodation, would’ve thought being put up in a warm, safe, comfortable hotel would be the least of these asylum seekers’ problems. It’s not as if they’re being put up in Fawlty Towers, ffs! 🏨 Mrs Richards: “When I pay for a view, I expect something more interesting than that.” Fawlty: “Well may I ask what you expected to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House perhaps? The Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically across the plain?” 🤣

@JohnSavage1984 Yeah, but I’d rather be ‘imprisoned’ in a hotel than fearing for my mortal life every day in Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Syria etc.
