Can you imagine how this world would go if everyone who achieved results were then instantly sacked? 🥴 Now, I know this guy wasn’t popular amongst the Spanish women, but his coaching/management just won them a World Cup! That surely has to count for something. Of course, this will all be connected to the Rubiales thing, but frankly, I wouldn’t have sacked Rubiales himself for that inappropriate kiss. Just re-educated him a little. Can men (particularly) just get this once and for all, as it’s not even a woman thing, it’s a human thing: don’t kiss other people on their mouth without prior consent, unless they are close family or your lover. It’s that simple.

@catamountmpls But the guy who won kissed no one on the mouth. Yet, he is sacked. This is an important distinction, otherwise we’re just going to descend into prejudiced nonsense here.👍

He was actually massively disliked by a good proportion of the players, some of whom refused to play for the team before all this kiss furore. I strongly suspect he’d have been gone regardless of whether Rubiales kissed Hermoso on the mouth or not.

@@32RACorry Oh, I didn’t say it might not have been part of the reason, given the toxic general culture; I just said he’d probably have been dispensed with anyway, regardless of Rubiales’ actions.

@@32RACorry As for males managing male teams and females managing female teams, well that’s just nonsensical as there are dozens of male managers managing female teams with no issue. Also, in no other walk of professional life would you seriously suggest only women should manage women and men manage men.

@catamountmpls You seem to be pushing back against me, but I’m pretty sure we largely agree on this.👍
