Because Christians, quite literally, have been telling us of Jesus’ imminent return for 2,000 years. It doesn’t work like that. You don’t spend 2,000 years telling the rest of us about the ‘imminent’ return of someone. The clue’s in the word - imminent: ‘about to happen’. Jesus’ return, according to you brainwashed sods, has been ‘about to happen’ for fully 2,000 years!
