What’s a bit mystifying in this conflict is how people (depending on which side of the fence you stand) are quick to conflate Hamas with Palestinians, and how this results in hate for ordinary Palestinians. It’s the other side of the same coin whereby Jews are conflated with the state of Israel and that state’s geopolitical manoeuvrings. Anyone non-tendentious with eyes to see and even just a scintilla of impartiality can see that the only realistic way this whole thing will be resolved is 2 states (Israel and Palestine) side by side. Militarily getting rid of Hamas won’t get rid of the idea that gave birth to Hamas. They are the symptom here, not the disease (albeit, a particular nasty, vicious symptom.) This hell will continue ad infinitum into the future if a just political solution isn’t found; a solution that, crucially, grants the same rights and freedoms to Palestinians as Israel has.

@CelticSaint Last time I checked, in 2006 44% of Palestinians voted for Hamas. Nice try, though.👍
