This just perpetuates our dangerous world of realpolitik. By all means, if Taiwan chooses to be supplied with most of its arms from the US, then so be it, but for America to actually be willing to militarily meddle itself in what is a local Sino-Taiwanese issue, only takes us a minute nearer to midnight on that Doomsday Clock.

@eggroll3745 Just making the point that countries meddling in other countries’ affairs down the centuries has been the cause of so much disaster for our species. As I said, if Taiwan wants to arm itself to the teeth with American weapons, then that is its business; but for America to be stepping in to start punching China over what is a Sino-Taiwanese issue just strikes me as very, very dangerous for the rest of us on this planet.

@eggroll3745 I’m against other countries fighting other countries’ battles, as a rule. If outsiders are going to get militarily involved in a dispute like China-Taiwan, or indeed Russia-Ukraine, let it be a United Nations Army; not the most powerful top dog doing so, just because it can.
