  1. In all this polarised debate about Zelensky being a NATO/EU/US stooge and Putin being a new Napoleon trying to bring Ukraine back into the mother Russia fold, one can quite lose one’s bearings. One ends up, as ever in these situations, in believing half of it is true for both sides. Putin is not all devil and Zelensky isn’t all angel.

  2.  @wenlisman  Yes, I get that and agree with it. However, you are not seeing this from Putin’s point of view. He sees anyone joining NATO as a traitor. And particularly the former territories overseen by the USSR.

  5.  @PrimaMapleSyrup  No. I’m just saying that the affairs of humankind are rarely, if ever, black and white, that’s all. I’m against Putin. But I can totally see why he’s feeling hemmed in by an encroaching NATO. However, I also get that NATO members are not coerced into joining the way Putin is attempting to violently coerce Ukraine back into the Russian bosom. Just trying to see both sides, but my sympathies here are mainly with the victims, of either side: the civilian and military Ukrainian victims and the poor 18/19 year old conscripts in the Russian army.
