I once lived for a year in America, and one the things I found most alarming was just how religious so many are and it’s all invented, suggested manmade baloney (ie. organised religion), yet so many were holy rollers of the Christian persuasion and, as a lifelong agnostic, I often felt distinctly uncomfortable in mixed company if I suggested Christianity was just another manmade thing with no divinity behind it all. It constantly surprises me that the majority of humans aren’t agnostic as no one knows. But then you realise it’s all indoctrination from an early age, in large part. Aristotle nailed this: Give me the child until they are 7 and I will give you the adult.

@mysticcove3392 Indeed. Although, I’m not necessarily wholly on board with Dawkins’ atheism. There might be a divinity that shapes our ends, rough hew them how we will. What I am more or less 100% convinced of is that organised religion is all manmade stuff, made principally for men to serve men. It’s divine politics by any other name. My God is better than your God, blah, blah, blah.

@oua4397 Yeah, you’re a ‘Christian’, m8. Whatever. You need to question why. You also need to question why you’re not a Muslim, or a Buddhist, or a Sikh, or a Sith etc etc. The main reason is cultural. You bought the religion that was sold to you. Not only that, you bought it without establishing if God exists in the first place! That smacks of desperation. Don’t take that wrong.
