As usual with these things, this whole conflict boils down to the human tribal mentality linked to race/ethnicity (Palestinian v Jew - notwithstanding that both groups are Semitic in that they speak a Semitic language), organised religion (Islam v Judaism) and language (Arabic v Hebrew). 2 of these aforementioned (ethnicity/language - mother tongue) are given to us by accidents of birth; the other (religion) we kind of choose but, that said, the overwhelming majority of those who follow an organised religion follow the one which predominates in the culture in which they are born and raised, so this could be argued to be an accident of birth, too. So, essentially, we commit internecine conflict predicated on 3 accidents of birth. It seems human beings cannot cope with too much difference.

It’s ok. His underpants were in the colours of the Palestinian flag. 🇵🇸 🩲👌

@VoicesrilankaSinhala Lol. A wee joke and that automatically makes me a ‘Zionist’ does it?! 🤣 When did you have the sense of humour bypass operation? 🤔

@andrewlee-py9zm I don’t actually have a ‘very elementary understanding of religion’. You, on the other hand, have a very elementary understanding of basic punctuation and when to use capital letters and apostrophes.

@VoicesrilankaSinhala Er, who says I support Israel here? 🤔 You need to fire that researcher of yours, petal, as they are clearly utter shite. Don’t forget now: next time you’re in the supermarket, buy yourself a sense of humour!😉🩲🇵🇸

@Nigel-y3g Organised religion is, historically, one of the greatest disasters humanity has had the misfortune to invent. If all Palestinians and all Jews followed the same religion, there would be far less trouble here, historically. A huge part of the roots of this conflict is indeed down to manmade organised religion.

@CG-zi5ku How does any of that invalidate my OP? You’ve just confirmed a big part of this is down to race. You’re right; it is. Along with organised religion and language.👍
1
@CG-zi5ku So, it’s about race then. As the OP suggested. 👍

@KenYeo So, it’s about race then. As the OP suggested. 👍

@lentilsouper No, correct. The root of this is land claim based on manmade religious texts written by men. Add in race/language differences, et voilà!

@Nigel-y3g Lol@‘religion was not invented’.🤣 Yeah, it just, like, fell from the sky. Gotcha! 😉

@lentilsouper Er, my ‘factual evidence’ is invented, religious texts written by men, that so many, inexplicably, still follow religiously (pun intended) to this day. Nice try, though. 👍
1
@lentilsouper And yet, organised religion has been directly responsible for the deaths of millions and millions of people since we had the misfortune to invent it. Interesting that.
1
@KenYeo It’s not ‘flawed’ at all. Organised religion, race and language differences are, more often than not, at the root of human conflict on the macro-scale. Yes, land and resources are involved here, of course, I was simply pointing out how human beings organise themselves and into which tribe they allocate themselves, in order to stake a claim on those land and resources. It’s all predicated on accidents of birth.
1
@KenYeo Lol. So you’re telling me if all these people involved in this were the same race, of the same religion and spoke the same mother tongue language, we’d be here? Get real.👍

@lentilsouper Did you go to school? If you did, you appear to have missed the day when they taught basic punctuation, m8. Just write ‘we’re’ and not ‘were’ ffs. ‘Were’ is something totally different. I can’t take you seriously, son. 🤦♂️ You’re an embarrassment to yourself, your family and the apostrophe.
