The more this war goes on, the more one gets the impression that NATO is quite happy to sit back and smoke a few cigars as Ukraine fights on its behalf, and as Putin has the nuclear Damocles sword dangling over Europe’s head, it’s convenient for NATO to use this as the reason for not intervening; meanwhile Russia batters Ukraine, Ukraine valiantly fights back, Ukraine will probably lose, and Russia will probably regroup and move for the Baltic States, and then NATO will have to extinguish its cigar and perhaps think about actually getting its hands dirty.
