  1. The truth is that, as a lifelong football fan, women’s football just doesn’t grab me emotionally and also in terms of the actual skill-levels in the same way that men’s football does. I enjoy other women’s sports (eg. tennis, athletics) as much as men’s, but not football. The other thing I’m always curious about is the demand for equal pay in women’s football. Surely this is about demand and supply and if that’s the case, the massively higher demand for men’s football should correlate with higher pay for the men. I’m all for equal pay for an equal job done in a free market; but in this footballing free market, the demand for the men’s game is far higher than the demand for the women’s.
