This is all rather simple. In 2014, 54% of Scots residents chose to remain in the UK. As we speak, the current polls suggest more or less the same result either way. On this basis, holding another referendum just 8 years after the previous ‘once in a lifetime’ referendum feels a little off. For one thing, current life expectancy in the UK is about 80. Given this, 8 years seems rather quick, unless the 2014 pro-independence folk were talking about ‘once in the lifetime’ … of a dog!🤣 🐕

@johnbuie9195 Huh? No idea wtf yer on about, m8. All I know is this: in 2014 there was a referendum. The noes lost. Currently, polls suggest that there is no real difference in 2022 in terms of support for either side. If there were a dramatic lurch to ‘yes’ in the polls, then a new vote might be justified. There isn’t. The pro-independence folk need to suck it up.

@johnbuie9195 An election is not going to dramatically alter the numbers voting yes or no in a Scottish Independence Referendum. We’ve already had Brexit and current polls suggest that a vote tomorrow would yield more or less the same result as 2014.
