  1. I remember, as a kid, being shown around and given a thorough explanation about how the Goalkeeper CIWS worked. Goalkeeper is Phalanxs bigger, meaner cousin and wields a GAU-8. We saw it engage phantoms on deck (no ammo though, boo) Then we were shown the weapons station for someone mid level. There is a 3 position switch. StandBy ◀️ Semi Auto Auto is your friend. If it's deemed a threat, it dies. Sadly Goalkeeper never caught on and I'm beginning to wonder these days if the GAU-8 has the accuracy for this sort of task.
