@tbthedozer We are, we have been for years, a lot of these Polish deals were already in the pipeline. The Poles do NOT fuck about with Russia, all of East Europe and the Baltics have long memories

Will, don't forget that the Ukrainians (and Poles) are already skilled in: 1) Maintaining high tech military weaponry 2) Operating a LARGE military logistics system 3) Training new staff to perform all of the above 4) Defending all of the above 5) Doing all of the above while at war Don't, for even a second, compare Ukraine to the Iraqi or Afghan situation. These guys are for real and have spent a decade rebuilding their military from the ground up. From the ground up and very successfully too. They had prepared for years for this and when those first strikes came in and the West was drooling on the floor, the Ukrainian military ghosted Russia. They preserved most of their air force, air defence, rocketry and artillery, feel back in good order, extended the Russian supply lines and then spanked them in front of the world. And that was planned and practised. In Putin's wetest dreams his "modernised" military isn't this good. And then they sunk an air defence cruiser with no ****ing navy Yes Russia's navy is hot garbage, but that's still somewhat like sinking a Ticonderoga with bad language. I don't think parts with English names and mph on the dial are going to phase them.

@Talishar The L7 was a sweet gun. Not sure it's good enough against even the oldest T-72s though.

@josegaucho2830 Although that's accepted logic, it's like trying to trade with organised crime to stop them being criminals. So no, that wouldn't have helped. Russia riddled every dollar of gas money because they thought having Europe dependent on gas would make us leery of supporting Ukraine. To them, it was all a criminal enterprise, maneuvering to prevent them from opposing them. Trade with Ukraine would be seen in the same way as trade with the EU. At leverage, not progression towards peace and a richer world. They're a Mafia state, a fascist hold-over from WW2. We defeated Hitler, we probably should have defeated Stalin next.

@josegaucho2830 No, that's not genocide, you've swallowed too much Russian propaganda. The Donbass accusations were lies, paid for by Russia because states in the East were turning away from them because, well, let's just say you don't want anything to do with Russia at the state level. Russia has started that Ukraine is not a real country and it should be erased, absorbed into Russia. If that doesn't press every genocide fear button on your brain there's something wrong with you. At the very VERY least this is ethnic cleansing. The war crimes and terror attacks also point towards how they feel about other people, these are not good people.

@Jorge.A.12 Russia really does have a finite military and everything modern is already used up and the trained professional soldiers are nearly all dead. I'm not sure they are going to make it to Christmas. North Vietnam has the USSR giving it infinite resources. Russia has nobody. No allies.
