@3aToi4u Ukranian is an artificially created nation, out of Russians. My surname is Omelchenko which ends with - ko. However dad never considered himself as Ukranian but rather as Russian. Basically Russian people were forced to name themselves as "Ukranians" after the bolshevik revolution. Whatever you've heard about the last names is completely false since all of the names and heritages have been mixed long time ago many times over. So it's practically and literally is the same people Russians and Ukranians - of the same blood and history. Last name ending is not an indication of someones nationality (in case of Russians and Ukranians) ,at least for me, it's the same.
