@thecringeinspector5636 that's the point IF it existed, and IF it adhered to it's claims, it could have been the best tank in theory ( or at least one of the best). The point is that that tank was the EPITOME of the Soviet Tank development. There was always a current gen tank, and also some research and work done in advance for it's next gen improvement. So they had a current T80UD tank at the dissolution of the Soviet Union and they applied all of the available post Soviet advancements to it, and on top of that some better version western thermal sights etc. So that tank was literally the epitome of the Soviet Tank development, the best possible tank that the Soviet Union could have produce over it's 70 years of tank research and development, was released in that tank the T84 BM Oplot . So it's not like it came out of the blue or out of nothing. It had a solid Soviet basis behind it. And the tank in theory was good, however , as I've said in the beginning, if it had existed... It doesn't exist and Ukraine can't produce it without Russia (all of the previous production tanks were made together with Russian cooperation), and their official Russian parts replacement program for Oplot was supposed to be finished in 2025 ( I think that program was called "Bastion" if I'm not mistaken) and for obvious reasons we now know that it's not going to happen. So there's no point even discussing it. Ukraine has 4 of those tanks left. And they are basically only using 1 of them, and the rest 3 are there for spare parts. Cheers

Well at least we've seen a video of it flying. So we at least can speculate about it. With regards to the American one, the NGAD and such. They keep promising it to us lol... But there's nothing to speculate about because it is just a bunch of smokes and mirrors. and nothing is even close to being ready at this point. So at least with the Chinese we can at least speculate about it because we've seen it flying.

Imo sounds like a bunch of bullocks. The most obvious reason why it's a tri jet is because Chinese are lucking in jet engine technology. A tri engine jet solves that issue easily (you get 2 gens ahead worth of thrust, so you could be 2 gens behind and still make the cut, that's the entire reason why it's a tri jet).

It looks western only because it's a late Soviet design. That type of turret was developed right before the dissolution of the Soviet Union. So it is as Soviet/ as Russian as it gets. Russia also got the same design style turret. Because it came out of the same country and a late Soviet Union tank design. In T90A it got the same turret design idea. Which got its turret from the Soviet Object 187, which got merged into the platform of the Object 188 ( which later became a T90). The Oplot tank is literally the epitome of the Soviet tank development. Of what it would have been anyway if the Soviet Union didn't break up.

Yes, because clearly the city had produced it. Sane think as referring to be living in Moscow, and talking about the river Moscow not the city itself. It's meaning dependent on common sense. That's how our everyday language works.

It's great if they were able to produce them and if it would work as promised and as intended. It's a good tank on paper.

Officially it has 4 tanks. But only 1 has ever been spotted. I'm pretty sure they are keeping the other 3 for spare parts. Because Ukraine can't produce them anymore.

Technically speaking BM Oplot is better. However it doesn't exist and so the T80BVM is the actual tank that is being produced and modernized. So it is pointless to even be talking about Oplots at this point.

Why do you guys keep saying that? there's literally nothing there to improve. Russian tanks are better. The only thing that you could potentially improve is electronics. But good luck copying that (impossible). But Russian tanks have superior design overall. Even more so, I feel like it will make another leap soon, which will leave any other world's tank design behind by many decades.

@Игорьсуздальский Он станет Русским, о том и разговор. Весь каламбур, как раз в том, что когда украинцы нахваливают Оплоты, они фактически хвалят нашу школу танкостроения, т. к. Оплот, это советский танк, с ног до головы. В том числе и ДЗ НОЖ, Варта, БИУС , КАЗ и так далее, это всё советские разработки, которые они все решили довести до ума и запихнуть в Т80УД. Сделали Т80УД на максималках. Единственное над чем они независимо работали, это углы расположения ДЗ на самой броне, из за этого получилось много разных версий, с разными углами и расположением ДЗ, которое поидеи , как должно быть гораздо лучше Т80УД, но никто не проверял.

J20 is the Russian MiG144, it was developed by the MiG team.

@wadopotato33 Except that they had both patents for single engine and the triple engine configuration just like in the Yak plane. Regardless they did obtain it and did use it in their development of the F35. It obviously wasn't a full copy. But it does have some research and development of the Yak plane in it.

You are saying there's no indication yet they have a flying prototype unlike the US. Historically speaking, yes, they've always struggled before, but nothing says that they can't catch up and surpass the west. And to my understanding it is going to happen eventually. The only question is when, will it be in 10 - 20 or 30 years. But by the looks of it it would happen earlier than everyone expects.

They did. You apparently just aren't following it. I was actually shocked when I saw that and my jaw dropped. A 12 Mach Kinzhal missile flying in plasma. It has no explosives inside of it as the sheer speed of it 12 Mach at the point of impact creates a huge explosion capable of destroying bunkers. Also there was a picture recently from a NASA satellite being blinded over a huge area of Sebastopol, an entire spy satellite being rendered useless. And there are even more incredible tech coming from Russia...

Yeah lol I keep hearing and getting responses from bots online saying "we have this thing, that plane that is many generations ahead of the rest of the world, we are just not showing it yet, trust me bro" 😂😂. Yet the Chinese have already shown it and it's already flying but the US one nobody has ever seen once ... 😂😂

@jonthepolarbear Yeah. In my life I've seen an infinite amount of prototypes. That didn't actually come to fruition and weren't eventually taped even. Even those that did, I don't know a single one that had finished and delivered on it's original promised numbers ( F22 promise of close to 1k, only 200 built. B2 promise of 200 only 20 delivered etc)... same thing with SR71 many promises and not so much deliveries and a quick retirement... same with the F117. So having a great project on paper is one thing. Actually delivering it and it entering service and serving for a long time is another... It's hard to actually make a craft that would last a long time and be relevant, on top of actually building it and everything working for it...

@RichelieuUnlimited except that we have their next gen crafts already flying as prototypes. And we don't have them for the US. Wait till they release their next gen first. Personally I don't know either how well they are doing. However 1 thing I know for sure and am witnessing myself as we speak. Almost no truthful information is coming out of the w. sources for you guys. So you don't even know what they have. I personally had to find it myself digging deep into different non w. based sources (non English sources) from different countries. And for example by the general consensus they are already leading in the fusion research roadmap ( if it were to believe to be true) leading in space ex. etc etc etc. The thing is that it is not allowed to be spread on the w. controlled internet. So people think that it's failing or something lol. When in reality it's the exact opposite. Again I don't know how much of that is them actually telling the truth. The only thing you can reliably tell is the factual physical recorded proofs. Like the Chinese Space Station ( the only other one outside of the ISS) etc the 6th gen fighter jet test, which has been recorded etc. You can witness that in metal as an objective reality regardless of how good or reliable that technology is, we can physically see it and assess it ourselves. We don't see anything of sorts for the US ( outside of the cut down B2 bomber which is the B21). So until we actually have any proofs, there's no reason to trust anything that comes out of the MoD considering that they've been caught in unrelenting l. over and over again. lol

Tailless designes had existed since forever (since the beginning of the 20th century). The problem (as with everything) is making them practical and useful to the current gen of modern aviation. And that particular caveat is extremely hard.

@scorpiontdalpha9799 they are in Thailand. Ukraine has no access to them. The actual tanks that they have were 4 Oplots 1 of them has ever been seen on the battlefield.

@Galova They did build it though when they were cooperating with Russia. The last one was built I think in 2016 for Thailand. Since then they weren't able to produce a single working prototype. Just some tank frames for the parades, without them being able to fire or be used on the battlefield.
