I think Paulus had the manpower to hold the defensive line on the Volga. From then, it's repulse Uranus and allow Army Group A to seize the oil. Desperate stuff, but they had little choice

I don't think you're right. If the Soviets had not been as ruthless, the Germans would have kept the war going longer. And in any case, the participants of WW1 were every bit as bad
