  1. The assumption that human consciousness is a product of natural genetic evolution should be acknowledged as an assumption. Materialism as one of many philosophies does not come with a correctness guarantee. It is entirely possible that human consciousness causes brain structure and activity rather than the other way around, and it is equally possible that the correlation is a temporary and accidental state rather than bearing any causal characteristics.

  2. I think that it is helpful to define a distinction between reality and actuality. Reality deals with manifest, material reality. Actuality deals with the unmanifest, non-material actuality -- the things that exist but do not have material embodiment. It appears that material seeks actualization in spirit while spirit seeks realization in material.

Even if you can see the future, it is an ultimately useless ability: if your vision is accurate, then anything you did in response to the vision either had no effect for preventing it or contributed to bringing it about; if your vision turns out to be false, whether or not you did something to attempt to avoid it, then there is no confirmation it was true or your actions were justified or necessary.

  14. I am fairly sure that the economy is totally screwed at the moment. ~50% unemployment (i.e. as the inverse of labor participation rate) and 30% annual monetary debasement. Medicine that is normally an overnight shipment took three weeks. Prices of commodities are going parabolic, and consumer goods are in short supply since we don't produce things anymore. The money printing experiment has had really bad results thus far.
