They could have bought the land, but instead, they masacred and destroyed the native ppl with disease to steal their land, and are still doing it. They started massacring my ppl in the late 1500-1600's. My Grandfather was the last of the tribes and he was killed on the railroad. I am searchingDOT Data bases now to see if he was murdered or if it was an accident. I'm pretty sure the government rendition will call it an accident, even if he was murdered.
