  1. Read the Constitution there buddy. Its in the Article 1 18 enumerated powers of Congress to mai tain postal roads. Yeah, they had roads back in the day but they were dirt roads being maintained. The entire Interstate highway system is on the federal Government. Yes, states take care of local roads. Check your tax bill or legislature.
