@Isleofskye Your views seem to align quite conveniently with unpleasant stereotypes, funnily enough. You seem think Jews and Chinese average 2 children. I happen to live in an Orthodox Jewish area in the north west of England, so let me share my detailed observations:
I have found them to be a very isolated community where they don’t seem to interact with outsiders (including other kinds of Jews apparently). I have never seen them participating in wider society (working, studying, socializing) beyond their own community where they seem to spend all their time. At a glance, they seem to have about 4/5 children per couple, who are all close in age. There are lots of really young kids there, I often stop my car to let them cross the road unaccompanied, these are kids as young as 3/4 or even younger. I have never seen the like of this before anywhere in the UK and I have lived all over the UK and abroad for reference. And you don’t see many families with English as their first language by choice it seems (note, this community has been present in the UK for up to two centuries). It feels like a separate little country with its own religious-only schools, businesses and institutions. I can only imagine this would be amplified in their larger communities in Golders Green. NOTE, these are only my personal, daily observations as a resident in this place: I don’t necessarily have a problem with this community. But I do wonder why other communities seem to be demonized for way less than this and for nowhere near as long. Maybe you can tell me why you are willing to tolerate one group over another where the evidence suggests you should do the opposite?
And what’s wrong with not liking dogs? Not every culture loves dogs more than their own parents as some Brits do. Is Cano-phillia now the international standard for civilization? The Koreans eat dogs (as do Japanese who also eat horses openly) yet even you will admit to their advancement. How do you explain that?
So no, I don’t really buy in to your opinions, as they seem spurious and retrofitted to support certain views. And they seem to based on the premise of “the darker the skin, the greater the sin.” It’s not the 1970s anymore. At least not outside of your own mind. My dad is your exact age and to think I’m having this chat with someone who is my dad’s age makes me feel ashamed on your behalf.
