  1. Interesting fact: the Bristol Blenheim MK4 didn't have a mechanism to open the bomb bay doors. Instead, they were held shut by parachute elastic. So, when the bomb release was pushed, the bomb landed on the bomb bay doors, the doors would open and the bomb drop out. The elastic would then snap the doors shut.
