And what "sport" does my AK-47 need a bayonet for? there's an interesting article by the NRA titled "Remembering The Air Force General Who Helped Usher In The M16 Rifle". It explains how AR-15s were used in Vietnam, and then evolved into the M16 A1. So I guess considering it was used by the military in Vietnam, which was its intended purpose by its designer Eugene Stoner (originally the AR-10, chambered in 7.62×51mm NATO), that kind of makes it a military weapon, doesn't it, genius? But what would I know, I was just a dumb grunt, and the first rifle I fired in the army was the M16-A2.
