The problem with India's approach to Afghanistan is that India is always viewing Afghan from its Hindu perspective. And its not a very flattering friendly one. India sees Afghans not as friends or comrades. India sees them as someone to be dealt with ONLY to keep Pakistan in check OR to keep Kashmir safe from Talibans or maybe to fund Baloch separatism. India does not care about Afghans because of who they are because Indian establishment is deeply suspicious and hateful towards Muslim community in general. But they deal with Afghanistan only to keep its own Islamic insurgency in check. Which is a terrible approach because there is no real love , just cosmetic love.

@anuragdandekar6064 You exposed your lack of understanding again. 1. Afghanistan is ruled by friendly Afghan govt , NOT Taliban. In your comment you mentioned Afghanistan , not Taliban. India can deal with them easily as brotherly nation with similar religious belief. 2.Afghanistan was not carved out of India. It was a separate country all along. 3. Following Indian culture does not mean 'Hindutva'. It means Bharatiyatva. Following Hindu culture means Hindutva. Example: The proponent of Hindutva concept Savarkar never worshipped Allah or Jesus. The RSS is predominantly Hindu religious group and their idea of India is 'Hindu India'. They never separated Hindu customs from their ideology. You need to clear your own confusion.

Wait a second !! Aren't Indians Muslims too ? LOL this is the usual blunder majoritarian thinking makes. We fail to capitalize on what we truly are i.e. a democratic secular diverse country by trying to force Hindutva mindset. It has no value at all. Indians are Muslims too and Pakistan was part of India in fact. Which makes us totally capable in building a friendly strong relationship with Afghanistan. But our mindset stops us from doing that.
