My Bengali Hindu aunt had to leave Assam , thanks to Assamese ppl making it impossible for Bengali girls to live in Assam. For those who think this was a Hindu Muslim issue , it was not. It was a Assamese Bengali clash.

LOL To kill women and children claiming they are Bangladeshi is the lowest and barbaric act of Assamese society. It only shows the racist venom in their blood.

@dopaminedosevroasis9382 I can accept that argument of lack of education of tribals however Assam movement was mainly run by educated young Assamese people who claimed Assam is filled with millions of Bangladeshi. NONE were found in NRC. Today Assam has new form of hate , that is calling Muslim Bengalis as Bangladeshi. So I dont know how much education one needs to stop behaving like animals but its hard to believe that lack of education was the main reason.

@dopaminedosevroasis9382 Dont you think Assamese people should also be realistic about the issue ? Instead of spreading fear about so called 'Bangladesh refugee' they should try to recognise that not everyone is Bangladeshi and refugees can be treated with compassion. Bangladeshi refugee problem was solved when there was peace in Bangladesh. Hardly anyone passes the border these days because Bangladesh has better opportunity today. And Bengalis in Assam contributed to Assam state economy. All it takes is some rational mind and compassionate hearts.
