  1. Preposterous proposition by Shekhar Gupta!! According to him the 'market' will self regulate itself and they will attain enlightenment..what is this market ? A polarized population who are constantly being fed with massive hate campaign through not just mainstream media but also social media with the help of government agencies and ruling parties. In such a dangerous times you leave everything to the 'sanity' of that same mob that beats up random people in suspicion of carrying beef. You are telling the same 'MARKET' to watch good news ?!!! And with this you are exposing vast section of undefended minority population , Muslims,Christians, Sikhs , Dalits , Tribals , to a massive violent force . What kind of a nonsense is this ? People with disproportionate power and wealth are already influencing the market and creating content that are villifying the powerless and yet Mr.Shekhar Gupta has this unshakable faith in the market. He is forgetting this market is not his Delhi upper middle class gated community , it ALSO consists of those people who hacks someone to death in broad day light for not chanting 'Jai Sri Ram'.

  2. Journalism is not tooth paste. And in a country where there is disproportionate representation of one community in the media saying that 'freedom of speech' should be upheld in this case is faulty argument , freedom of speech of this sort of media will go unpunished and become widely accepted by the majority and ruling class however the same will cause blood bath if it is coming from minority. Have we seen any minority community channel protesting govt policies , govt actions ? Never. Why ? because A. they have no power B. Even when they try to make their voices heard they are shut down with brutal violence from society. In such a skewed social system it is wise and pragmatic to stop such fake news programmes.
