  2. it is an amazing place. St Basils did, and still does, amaze me with her beauty. If you go also tour the Kremlin to see her regal past and links to the British Monarchy. Many churches are white outside to indicate purity, but the inner walls are covered in paintings. Apparently back in the day many Russians could not read, so they wrote the bible story on the wall in pictures (well, that is what i was told by a tour guide)
