@meme4one Not even close to US vs Russia. The aid the US has sent is tiny compared to even it's yearly budget and its only sent a limited set of equipment. And Ukraine was invaded invaded by Russia, stop the bull about about it being US.

@meme4one There's nothing stopping them sending fast jets, they are choosing not to sent them because it isn't there war. This war is Ukraine vs Russia. Ukraine is obviously getting support but it's there war.

@meme4one What does it have to do with article 5? And all you've described is harder to do, if it's your war you make harder happen, if your supporting someone else you might not, like is happening.
4
@meme4one I take it you can't answer then.

All wars end peacefully, otherwise it's still a war.

Will is all important but west isn't weak, it smashed the Taliban in weeks in 2001.using only airpower and special forces, what it's problem is is a short attention span. Thats the risk in Ukraine.

@niallrussell7184 fair point, too short if different to actually short. 20 years was a long time just not long enough to entrench democracy.

There's no chance this will end in unconditional surrender, that would require a massive invasion of Russia. Also actual NATO members are a completely different prospect for Russia and wouldn't follow.
1
@edroth7612 but it's not. Russia has shown it incompetence, the idea it could fight NATO is laughable.
1
Russia would lose by using nukes on NATO, as there is no winning a nuclear war. The UK has spent a few billion on Ukraine, it routinely runs a deficit 10s of billions, the money spent on Ukraine is nothing.
1
He doesn't say NATO isn't allied against Russia, he says they aren't at war. He doesn't say NATO should provide all its might just continue to support Ukraine. The core interests of Russia that NATO threaten is it's ability to interfere in it's neighbours, that not a core interest that should be respected. And Putin has shown no signs of compromise so there is no point in a negotiating table.
1
Russia invaded, the US and NATO aren't even fighting, yet you blame the US and NATO.
1
Why does Russia get to decide what Ukraine does? And the reality was NATO wasn't close to letting Ukraine join.
1
@meme4one that is both untrue, we can escalate and not declare war, and thing to do with article 5 anyway.
