  2. Proxy war would generally involve both sides using proxy, Russia are fighting directly. Also it still a long way from what NATO could do, as you see with systems like this not being sent.

  3. They are generally more complex so need a longer training regiment and there is the added danger of hitting a mistaken target, more than one airliner has been shot down by mistake.

  4.  @HingerlAlois  Yeah, civilian airplanes are avoiding the area. My point was more to illustrate that even supposedly trained crews have had issues, so it's not something you can rush training for.
