Type 96 25mm AA. Why they were so terrible? Drydock 18 Why IJN kept using them? Drydock 55 This has been a public service message 🤓

@sarjim4381 thank you, I could almost understand the triples, but the single mounts always drove me raving mad. When they were flying around with a variation of the 20mm & 60 round drums, yet a single 25mm in free mounts. End rant. Thanks again!

@TheParkerrrrrr6 yes USS Princeton 1844, experimental gun explosion which almost took out the SECNAV CVL-23 WW2, bombed, fire, followed by torp magazine explosion, sank her and wrecked havoc on an assisting cruiser alongside. CG-59 Gulf War, underwater mine explosion.

@ywe3 technically able to do it doesn't mean it's a good deal in the long run. The result would be a white elephant that cost to much to crew, operate and maintain and then you will have a single asset ready for tasking 1/3 of the time. The true reality is that 3 Ticos mean that at any one time 1 ship and crew is deployed while the other 2 are getting maintenance and modernization and the sailors are home. The sum total of crew required is fewer than the NJ. Recruiting, training and retaining is a BIG factor. Fuel, parts, beans, bullets, supporting and accompanying ships, shore infrastructure, class rooms...etc. These are just some of the factors that must be balanced when planning a NAVY. And keeping and adding VLS to the NJ is clearly a bad investment. No qualifying/escape button statement presented.
