No they wouldn’t. These brigades were not liberals, they were mostly socialist. Their medic, doc Bethune was a intentional communist who helped the CCP against the KMT and IJA

@TheZombieman87 Im not surprised. The international brigades had people from a wide variety of political and national backgrounds, all though most were social democrats.

Nice song, would have been nice if the Spanish republicans maintained a liberal democracy. Unfortunately Stalin stuck them under his communist thumb and they went far left which turned away support from all normal people leading to a nationalist win.

@TheZombieman87 Yea agreed. One interesting story about that is there is a lot of Georgian army veterans fighting in the Ukrainian foreign legion. Many of those Georgians feel have a chance to get back at Russia for Russias attacks in 2008. Interesting
