Well it’s because the Italian partisan movement was socialist. Not all of it but many members had red leanings. Fascism and socialism don’t get along

No, that’s not a valid reason. America is still a constitutional democratic republic and always will be, so long it is still America. Americans from both the side and left side of the spectrum came to fight for the country in WW2 and take down fascism.

@ America joined the war on December 7th 1941. When America joined, it had a very small standing army, barely any tanks or trucks, weak Air Force, its navy on fire and economy in flames. During this time, the axis looked like the more powerful alliance in the world with Japan sweeping across all of Southeast Asia taking America, Britain and the Dutch by surprise. Germany also had complete control of all of mainland Europe and was at the gates of Moscow. It was America that turned the tide of the war. Stalin even said it himself, he would have not been able to win the war without US lend lease. Without our metal, industry, trucks, fuel, logistics, supplies, bullets, trucks, planes, railroad efforts, food, cloths, etc, the Soviet Union would have zero ability to launch a successful large counter attack , let alone an armored counter attack like operation Bagration. The Soviets would still hold their 3 big cities by 1942, but without any ability to counter attack the Germans would eventually take them one by one, Leningrad would starve, there would be nothing left of Stalingrad and Germany would bomb Moscow and Gorky in the long run Russia could not sustain this. Germany could beat the Soviets in a one versus one.

@ Because they is no united front. Like in Italy it took a partisan united front of liberals, monarchists, moderate fascists, democrats, mobsters, socialists and communists all together to take down Mussolini’s regime

@ernesttomic3250 Same thing. Both socialists and communists were part of the red front and they viewed the fascists and Nazis as enemies. Also if the red hardliners took power… immediately after they always massacre the liberals and democrats… host like how they ousted the kerensky government. But this was not possible and American and British military occupation set up the post war Italia

@attackmaster519 Fascism is effective economically. But national socialism is not. It relied upon aggressive expansionism and slave labor and could not sustain its occupied territories nor muster the same production as the western allies which is why the allies targeted already weak Nazi industry which was factories and production centers

@DavidPedratscher the most were democratic socialists. Many conservatives were fine with the regime in southern Italy and its grand council. They also had no problem with Mussolini… untill he became a puppet of Nazi Germany and Hitlers armies were brought into Italia

Mussolini kind of just marched on the kings palace in 1922 with his blackshirt army and the king did not expect and feared for his life so he basically just handed over power to Mussolini. Many Italian supported Mussolini… but once he started failing so did his support. His war with America and Britian was unwinnable and as a result the Nazis occupied northern Italy… the Italian hated him at this point. Remember the way Mussolini died… that’s how people felt about him

@TurkishNationalistABC Monarchies are usually always right, the furthest left they would go is liberal. Also, in 1943 there was a monarchist faction of Italian partisans. And even today in England, if you are conservative you almost always support the monarchy.
