Yep. As others have said you seriously need a source for that if you don't want to come across as someone who is 'economical with the truth'. Plus wasn't Gareth Roberts himself cancelled for 'anti-trans' comments?

There was a time when a young Owen Jones did some pretty decent, measured political interviews from a 'leftie yoof' perspective. Nowadays the man's a menace churning out predictable immature rants for personal profit designed only to promote hatred and division.

Every decent human being deserves respect from their fellows, that should be a given, but this isn't the nub of issue. The Spectator's political leanings have nothing to do with it incidentally. This isn't whether a relative handful of celebrities get to ply their trade unmolested or not or simply about deferring to 'experts' or respecting the apparently monolithic feelings of one tiny group. It's about asking, nay demanding, that everyone accept what they KNOW absolutely not to be true. In this instance regarding the nature of gender. 'Political correctness' was a term first coined in Stalin's Russia for people who largely knew what the actual, sometimes inconvenient truth was but who knew that if it contradicted the official party line then it ceased to be 'the truth'. In order to toe the line then and get on they had to become 'politically correct'. I have the greatest respect and liking for Graham Norton, but on this he has, quite frankly, totally missed the point and is trying to be a little too clever for his own good.

This is really about the monetising and cynical exploitation of victimhood by certain individuals and organisations for personal and/or political gain.

Identitarian politics is SO irrational nevermind truly divisive and toxic. Why should who you freely choose to sleep with or the colour of your skin apparently forever define your politics or, far worse, brand you a traitor for not conforming to the apparent norm? The real 'fascists' we ALL need to worry about are the ones who espouse such views.
